A simple observation started it: every physical law, in least action, natural selection, and thermodynamics, points in the same direction. Not toward equilibrium. Not toward complexity. Toward accelerating improvement of improvement itself. That observation held across quantum mechanics, biology, cosmology, chemistry, neuroscience, and every other domain tested. No counterexample has been found.

What this Theory claims

One recursive instruction runs the universe: optimize the process of optimization itself. Not a metaphor. A specific, testable claim with five falsification conditions and a standing counterexample challenge open to anyone.

Established physics underlies all of it. Least action, quantum mechanics, conservation laws, information theory. What's new is the synthesis: reading all of it as expressions of one recursive instruction. Whether that synthesis is correct is what this site invites you to test.

This isn't "simulation theory." Whether we're in a simulation is a secondary detail. What matters is purpose: the universe computes toward optimize optimization, and everything we observe is that computation in action.

How it's tested

Engineering logic, not philosophical speculation. If you were designing a self-optimizing system from scratch, what features would it need? Parallel search of possibilities (quantum superposition). Selection of optimal outcomes (wave function collapse). Path optimization (least action). Memory (conservation laws). Error correction (DNA repair, immune systems, pain). Exploration (entropy, quantum tunneling). Every feature on the engineering checklist is in the universe.

Testing is adversarial by design: pick the hardest possible case, the most pointless or cruel phenomenon you can think of, and ask whether the universe would optimize better without it. Suffering, death, empty space, entropy, extinction events, junk DNA, parasites. Every serious attempt gets a specific mechanistic answer. After testing across hundreds of phenomena, zero confirmed counterexamples have survived the falsification protocol.

Academic context

Physicists proved the universe computes (Wheeler, Feynman, Lloyd, Tegmark) but never asked what it computes toward. This framework asks that question. It engages with Bostrom's simulation argument (extending it from WHETHER simulated to WHAT KIND), Friston's Free Energy Principle (a parallel framework from neuroscience), and Georgiev's action efficiency work (peer-reviewed confirmation that action efficiency rises monotonically across self-organizing systems). In academia, this theory's position is unique: physics-first, purpose-affirming, non-theistic. It sits between the theistic fine-tuning arguments (William Lane Craig, Robin Collins) and the atheistic dismissals (Sean Carroll, Lawrence Krauss). Academic papers are in preparation.

How to break it

Pick literally anything. Check whether the universe would optimize better without it. One valid counterexample under the fixed rules kills the entire framework. That's it. 100% claim means 100% attack surface.

The challenge is open to anyone. Every serious attempt gets a serious response.
